KOMAL PRIANKA

  • I hail from the beautiful island of Vanua Levu. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2017 and Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Science from the University of the South Pacific in 2019. I have volunteered for NGOs such as WWF and IUCN as field surveyor and intern.

    I am passionate about the Ocean and Marine Resources. My main research area is focusing on aquaculture potentials in Fiji for native fish species in order to betterment livelihoods and food security for the local people.

Komal Prianka is a 2021 PASS-CR Scholar completing a Masters of Science in Marine Science at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji. She is investigating the fundamental nutritional requirements of the Orange-Spotted Therapon (Mesopristes kneri). With her project, she hopes to establish the aquaculture potential of a novel fish species.
