SUPPORTING EDUCATION
& INNOVATION IN THE PACIFIC.

The Pacific Agriculture Scholarships, Support and Climate Resilience (PASS-CR) program provides scholarships and support to postgraduate students in agriculture, forestry and fisheries at The University of the South Pacific and Fiji National University.

We aim to mobilise a new generation of Pacific agricultural researchers who are equipped to tackle and address the challenges facing Pacific agriculture now and into the future.

PASS-CR SCHOLARSHIPS

ACIAR PASS-CR scholarships are awarded to high achieving Pacific Island scholars,
empowering them to become the leaders of tomorrow. The scholarships support students in agriculture, forestry and fisheries to meet emerging challenges in the region, whilst building a strong research profile.

Applications for the 2025 PASS-CR scholarship program are now closed.

SUPPORT & CAPACITY BUILDING

The PASS-CR Program extends beyond simply awarding scholarship funds. Our dedicated support team provides ongoing support, workshops, research training and networking to scholars and their supervisors.

We aim to strengthen the Pacific agricultural innovation system by building on the strengths of Pacific universities and their regional partners.

CLIMATE RESILIENCE

Launched in April 2022, the Climate Resilience component of the PASS-CR Program - the Climate Change and Food Systems Research Innovation Facility - fosters Pacific agricultural innovations by offering post-graduate students and their supervisors, our Future Thinkers, the opportunity to link their research with leading researchers in
Australian and Pacific centres of excellence in climate change resilience research.

“The PASS Program has given me the best platform to mould me into a future climate leader - a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

— Salote Nasalo, MSc PASS-CR 2021 Scholar
